Oldham County Districts: Oldham County School District welcomed most students in 2022-23 school year

Oldham County School District had the highest enrollment among Oldham County districts, welcoming 1,142 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Kentucky Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.9% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 75.4% of the total enrollment.

Oldham County School District roughly covers schools within Oldham County with its main office in Buckner.

Among the two districts in Oldham County, Oldham County School District ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,142 students.

In the previous school year, Oldham County School District had the highest number of students among Oldham County districts.

Despite escaping some of the pandemic's educational disruptions, Kentucky's achievement gaps have remained an issue since 2019. In the eighth-grade reading assessments, for example, Hispanic students scored eight points lower than their white peers, and the gap reached 15 points in math. Black students fared even worse, falling more than 20 points behind and facing a failure rate nearly double that of their white counterparts.
