Citizens For Hopkins issued the following announcement on Jan.16.

Madisonville PD reports woman squeezes through locked gate, drives off in city vehicle

 A 50-year-old Sebree woman faces charges after she allegedly broke into a gate and stole a city vehicle at Madisonville Water Filter Plant 2 off Lake Peewee Road Wednesday evening.

According to a Madisonville Police Department report, Vonda G. Calbreath removed a metal bar from one of the front gates, squeezed between the two locked panels and went into the employee parking lot at 9:30 p.m. Police described the parking lot is secured from outside access with razor wire fencing.

Once inside, she got into an unlocked city official vehicle and drove away in the Ford F-150 to 417 Weldon Ave., where she abandoned the vehicle and left the area on foot, the report lists. Calbreath provided police details of her involvement.

Calbreath was charged with theft by unlawful taking/disposition (automobile-less than $10,000) and second-degree criminal trespassing. She was released from Hopkins County Jail today on her own recognizance.

MPD also released the following reports today:

Chavonte I. Homer of Madisonville was charged Jan. 15 with convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lexsey Bernal of Dawson Springs was charged Jan. 15 with giving officer false identifying information and served warrants on the charges of failure to pay court costs or fines and failure to appear in court.

Robert Alan Mason of Evansville, Indiana was charged Jan. 15 with failure to appear.

Patrick Brasher of Madisonville was charged Jan. 15 with failure to appear.

Blonie Martin of Slaughters was charged Jan. 15 with failure to pay court costs or fines.

Jerry Emersson of Madisonville was charged Jan. 15 with failure to comply with sex offender registry (second or greater offense).
