Citizens for Hopkins issued the following announcement on Dec. 13
Madisonville Community College held the first fall commencement ceremony in the college’s history Thursday at Glema Mahr Center for the Arts.
MCC reports more than 80 students participated in the ceremony in which graduates from all academic programs were recognized.
“Graduation is a celebration of student success and we are thrilled to share that with the community," MCC president Dr. Cindy Kelley stated. "We have another outstanding graduating class heading into great careers or onto to transfer at a four-year college or university."
Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corp. president Ray Hagerman delivered the commencement addresses. During the ceremony, Lynn Kennedy Curtis was honored for her work over the years with MCC Singers and local performing arts community.
