Police 03

Citizens for Hopkins issued the following announcement on Nov. 27

A Marion woman was injured following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of South Main Street and McLaughlin Avenue this afternoon.

An unidentified 16-year-old driver of Madisonville was driving north on Main at 1:20 p.m. approaching the intersection, when she misjudged clearance of a GMC Acadia driven by Tammy Lemon 50, of Marion, a Madisonville Police Department preliminary traffic report lists.

MPD reported Lemon’s vehicle was stationary, facing east on West McLaughlin, as the teen turned left onto West McLaughlin, striking the Acadia head-on.

Lemon was taken to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A 16-year-old passenger, the teen driver and 19-year-old passenger listed as Presley Weatherholt of Madisonville were not injured.

Medical Center Ambulance, Capital Towing and Madisonville Fire Department assisted.
